PUBS & BARS
"The Angelsea Arms" on Neville Terrace serves a fine pint of "London Pride" or "Stella". Catch Hall & Bradfield at their out of hours office most Friday nights.
"The Grenadier" in Wilton Row is also a favourite. Not really a walk from our shop and you will probably need your A-Z to find it, but well worth the effort. Its small, rich in patina, has a resident ghost. The beer labels stuck to the ceiling are pre war! Serves a world famous Bloody Mary. Busy at weekends. Go there.
"The Windsor Castle" in Camden Hill Road (this is actually in Kensington!) has three inter connecting bars with secret doors, a garden and serves an excellent meal. A proper pub.
"190 Queensgate" at the top of Queens Gate is an atmospheric bar in the Gore Hotel. Stars playing at the Albert Hall can often be seen warming up or winding down. Cool.
RESTAURANTS
"The Bangkok" in Bute Street serves great value Thai food 020 7584 8529. Watch out for personalities from stage, screen and historic racing amongst the diners. Eat their Thai Rice Noodles.
"The Noorjahan" on Bina Gardens has been in London longer than Bradfield and might just be serving the best curry in town. Foreign visitors should indulge themselves in at least one experience of what is in fact our national dish. Surveys have proved Chicken Tikka Massala to be the nation's favourite. 020 7373 6522 for bookings.
"Da Mario's" serve very good Pizza and Pasta up on Queens Gate Terrace on the corner with Gloucester Road. This was apparantly Pricess Diana's favourite and there is a priceless picture of Her Royal Highness in the restaurant. Book early and ask to sit upstairs. 020 7584 9078
"The Gore Hotel" at 190 Queensgate has always been a hip place to stay. Eat in "The Brasseie" restaurant or have a drink in their happening bar "The 190" thats open late. 020 7584 6601
"Monza" at 6 Yeomans Row (just down the road from Harrods) is a destination restaurant. Decorated with automobilia (including pictures of the Ferrari GTO raced by H & B) the food is sensational. Phone Franco for a booking 020 7591 0210 have one of the specials and avoid the melon Vodka. Highly recommended.
"Il Falconiere" is the local Italian restaurant. Its on Old Brompton Road. Their £10.00 lunch menu must be the best value in town. Not to be under estimated. 020 7589 9158 for booking but they can usually fit you in.
SHOPS
"Motorbooks" in St Martins Court will have that book you want to buy. Just north of Trafalgar Square and if you keep your eyes open as you wander up St Martins Lane you will see "St Martins Models" where you are sure to pick up an attractive model.
"Harrods" (020 7730 1234) and "Harvey Nichols" (no proper bloke would know the phone number for Harvey Nicks) are a ten minute walk from H & B. This can make a London visit very expensive but think of the ladies and it only seems fair.
OTHER STUFF
"The Science Museum" on Exhibition Road has classic cars and motorcycles amongst the space rockets and is FREE. "The Natural History Museum" is next door and full of assorted dinosaurs that kids love and is also FREE.
